When/where: Friday through Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at at 6845 Highland Rd.
Why go: Not only will there be more than 200 cats/kittens available for adoption, but the store will also host a Pet HealthCare Fair on Sunday featuring free wellness exams for cats and dogs plus reduced-cost veterinary services, including vaccines and microchipping.
Price: Free.
When/where: Saturday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at Fisk Farm, 9180 Highland Rd.
Why go: There will be a rummage sale, and the North Oakland Storytellers and White Lake police and fire departments will be on hand to teach kids about fire safety and more.

4. FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY BOOK SALE
When/where: Saturday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the .
Why go: The regular sale goes until 1 p.m. Books are $1 for a hardcover, 50 cents for a paperback and 25 cents for children books. After 1 p.m. the bag sale starts. During the bag sale you can fill a bag with books for $5.
Price: Free admission.
5. DIXIE HIGHWAY SUMMER BLOCK PARTY SALES
Where/when: Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. downtown Clarkston.
Why go: Discounts, door prizes, live band, car show and food.
Price: Free.
