Great Escape: Mood Music

Motivational speaker, sympathetic friend, spirit lifter and so much more, music is what you want when you need it.

Each week, we’ll tell you about one great idea to give you a much-deserved break and make your life a little easier —maybe a whole lot easier.

Music is a multifaceted tool. It can be used to block out the noise of a crazy day, add a motivational soundtrack to a mundane activity, pump up sports teams and drive us crazy in elevators. The possibilities are endless, but the results are evident. Music has the ability to alter moods and may just be the remedy for a mom in need.

Today music is more portable than ever and MP3 players can be purchased at a reasonable price. This means you can literally keep your own personal “mood controller” right in your purse or pocket! You can also burn CD mixes of your favorite songs for a customized driving soundtrack.

Belt out some of your favorite tunes in between dropping one kid off here and picking another up from there. The singing will increase your oxygen intake and blood flow, and give you the well needed energy burst to keep up with your day. For a distressing effect, consider slower songs to help mellow your heartbeat and ease your blood pressure.

Check out some of these mom-chosen favorites from momlogic.com:

Whatever your tastes, there is a musical genre out there to accommodate your needs. If you disagree, you can always make your own music, that’s therapeutic too!
