Need a Recipe for a Party? Try Monster Cookie Dough Dip

If you want to please a crowd, you can go wrong with this sweet dessert dip.

A few weeks ago I came across the blog Something Swanky. The author, Ashton, has a knack for creating her own unique dessert recipes. One of these recipes, monster cookie dough dip caught my eye.

It seems the newest dessert trend is dessert dip. It's easy to make and can serve a large number of people. It also can be thrown together in a matter of minutes, or the night before. Ashton has a number of dessert dips on her site, but my favorite has to be her original recipe for monster cookie dough dessert dip.

Yes, you can bet that this recipe is not the healthiest – but boy does it taste good.

To make this recipe you'll need:

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 c. butter, softened
  • 1/2 c. peanut butter (at least)
  • 1-2 c. powdered sugar (even more if you really want it thick)
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. all-purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. oats (more or less depending on desired texture)
  • 1 bag (approximately 1 cup) plain M&Ms
  • 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

To start, beat together the cream cheese, butter, and peanut butter until smooth in your stand mixer, or in a large bowl with an electric hand mixer. Next, mix in the powdered sugar, starting with 1 cup (or 2 cups if you already know you want a thicker dip - I used about 1 1/2 cups). Now, mix in the brown sugar, flour, and vanilla. At this point, you can add in more peanut butter by 1/4 cups if you want a stronger PB taste.

Using a paddle attachment or a wooden spoon, mix in the oats, M&Ms, and chocolate chips. You can add more oats if you like, it will just make the dip thicker. Serve with pretzels, graham crackers, or any other cracker you think might taste good. Enjoy!
