- 'The power behind the pen’: A tribute to our publisher: Last week, The Spinal Column Newsweekly lost it's owner/publisher James Fancy. On Wednesday, the paper released a special tribute to the man responsible for this local staple.
- White Lake soldier remembered as caring dad, friend: In another Spinal Column story, Antonio Morganelli - a White Lake soldier - is remembered. Morganelli died of a heart attack in early July while stationed at Fort Drum in New York.
- Knight declines school board run: Filing deadline Aug. 16 for Huron Valley Schools Board of Education: In school news, Huron Valley Schools Board of Trustee John Knight told the Milford Times that he will not be seeking reelection in the fall.
- Man seeks justice after being wrongly accused of passing counterfeit Coinstar receipt: After an incident at the Waterford VG's grocery store, a White Lake man is seeking redemption. The man told the Oakland Press he was wrongfully accused of cashing a fradulent Coinstar receipt.
- Have you seen this dog? Skittish pet rescued from hoarding situation on the run in Highland Township: A dog is on the loose in the Highland/Milford/Commerce/White Lake area, and it's owner is looking for help locating the animal. The dog, Louie, has been traveling throughout the area since July 6 and has been spotted several time. The dog is friendly, but will run from strangers. If spotted, please call Meredith Brown at 248-884-4769.
