Have you seen any coyotes in White Lake or Highland?

According to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, coyote sightings in the area are nothing new.

“The event is a great opportunity to learn about these members of the canine family and how coyotes expand their ranges to include urban areas in Michigan,” Education Resource Specialist Kathleen Dougherty said in the press release.

Educational materials and displays will provide tips on how to distinguish coyotes from dogs or foxes and what to do when a coyote is observed in the wild or a neighborhood. Questions and concerns will be answered by Oakland County Parks and Recreation Educational Resources staff and local researchers from Wayne State University.
