Police Blotter: Drug Sweep, Destruction of Property and Stolen Vehicle

A round up of events from Tuesday through Friday.

A couple of students are facing charges, after police officers found drugs and drug paraphernalia in lockers and cars.

In a letter to parents, administration described a drug sweep conducted at the school on Wednesday.

According to the letter, the school was placed on lockdown while an unannounced search was conducted on lockers in the school, and in the parking lot by Oakland County Sheriff's K-9 units.

"There were five dogs used and the officers at no time interacted with students or classrooms," Principal Bob Behnke said in the letter. "A search of all the building’s lockers and select rows of the student parking lot took place. Several lockers were 'hit' upon and students of those lockers were searched. Marijuana paraphernalia was discovered in one locker, and in the student parking area we did find one student vehicle with marijuana paraphernalia and alcohol. These students are facing disciplinary consequences"

Lt. Adam Kline with the said four reports were filed with the department after the search for drug possession, or possession of drug paraphernalia on Wednesday.

Destruction of property

A rock was reportedly thrown through a window on Tuesday, no one was injured.

Kline said the incident occurred sometime between 8-11 p.m. at a home on the 10000 block of Oxbow Lakeshore Drive.

"The rock was thrown through a bedroom window at the front of the home," Kline said."

The incident remains under investigation.

Stolen vehicle

Police are looking for a new Harley Davidson, stolen from an area bar.

On Tuesday police were called to the after a patron found his 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle missing from the parking lot.

"The bike was parked on the north side of the bar," Kline said. "It was taken sometime between 8:20-10:30 p.m."

The motorcycle, valued at $30,000, was entered into the lien system as stolen, and the incident remains under investigation.
