Up to 6 Inches of Snow Possible Starting This Afternoon

The evening commute could be very slippery as rain changes to snow later today.

The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac has issued a Winter Storm Watch effective this evening through Wednesday morning.

Rain will change to wet snow this evening, with 3-5 inches falling between tonight and tomorrow. Snow may be heavy at times.

"Six inches or slightly more is not out of the question of precipitation changes to snow by late afternoon," reads the weather service's statement.
