Who's White Lake's or Highland's Person of the Year?

TIME magazine named President Obama their person of the year for the second time. Tell us who you think should win from our towns!

On Dec. 19, Time magazine named President Obama their Person of the Year, again!

The magazine invited votes on 40 candidates, including the president, Gabby Douglas and Kim Jong Un. Other options included The Mars Rover and the Higgs Boson Particle, Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi, and Apple CEO Tim Cook. But, the president took the title again four years after he first won the award as president-elect in 2008.

But who cares about the same-old, same-old? Who is White Lake’s or Highland's Person of the Year—the man or woman who, in Timespeak, “most influenced the news this year for better or worse”?

Tell us your pick in the comment section below!

Jim Christopher is your man, hands down. Jim is the owner of the Leo's Coney Island on M59. He is consistently involved in the community and is always prepared to donate money, food and (most importantly) his time to those in need. Jim makes all of his patrons feel important and welcome when they visit Leo's. He creates a warm environment that is often lost in this day and age. Jim is an exceptional individual.

In an email to White Lake-Highland Patch, an election worker nominated White Lake Township Election Specialist Ashley Amburgy for all her hard work during the 2012 elections.
