Whether you are heading north or staying home, we have compiled information that you need to know.

Closures, delays

White Lake Township offices will be closed Monday, along with the township police and fire departments.

The White Lake Library will also be closed on Monday, and won't open until Sept. 7 when renovations are expected to be complete.

Garbage services in White Lake will be delayed one day for the week. There will be no mail service on Monday.

Cat Scratch Fever

Rock out with Michigan's own Ted Nugent at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, DTE Energy Music Theatre, 7774 Sashabaw Road in Clarkston. Tickets are $55, $35 and $20 pavilion and $10 lawn.

10 a.m to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 12600 Dixie Highway in Holly. Tickets are $19.

Heading out of town

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) today announced it is removing lane restrictions on more than half of its road projects for the Labor Day weekend.

Beginning at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, and continuing until 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 82 of 147 projects statewide will have lane restrictions removed. This will make travel easier for the estimated 1.2 million motorists using Michigan roads and bridges for one last summer trip, according to AAA Michigan.

Oakland County

- Crooks Road will be down to one lane in each direction over M-59.

- I-96 has three lanes open in each direction between Milford Road and Kent Lake Road, with a traffic shift and reduced speeds posted. In addition, the northbound and southbound Kent Lake Road ramps to westbound I-96 are closed.

- M-5 right lanes closed in each direction between Purdue Street and 8 Mile Road.

- M-59 has two lanes open in each direction between Crooks and Opdyke roads with a traffic shift and reduced speeds posted . Also, the eastbound M-59 ramp to northbound I-75 is closed.

Central Michigan and Thumb

- I-69 in Flint, Genesee County, will have two lanes open in each direction with traffic shifted under the following bridges:

            - Grand Traverse Street

            - Church Street

            - Beach Street

            - Saginaw Street

- I-75, Bay County, southbound traffic shifted to northbound lanes from Linwood to Pinconning roads, using a moveable barrier to separate traffic. Wednesday - Saturday: two northbound lanes and one southbound lane will be open. Saturday - Wednesday: two southbound lanes and one northbound will be open.

- I-75, Saginaw and Bay counties, three lanes open in each direction from M-84 to Crane Road. Three northbound and two southbound "express" lanes are shifted and open on the northbound side of the highway; one southbound "local traffic" lane is open on the southbound side. Access to I-675 and M-84 is maintained on the southbound lane.

- I-675, Saginaw County, remains closed from M-13 to Veterans Memorial Highway. Alternate routes include: M-13 to M-81 to I-75, and northbound I-675 to I-75. Downtown access is available via southbound I-675, using the Warren/Jefferson exit.

- I-675, Saginaw County, the Veterans Memorial Parkway bridge remains closed with a posted detour.

- M-13, Saginaw County, remains closed over King Drain with a posted detour.

- M-21, Genesee County, will have one lane open in each direction over Mistequay Creek with traffic shifted to the north half of the bridge. 

- M-57, Gratiot County, will have one lane open over Bear Creek with traffic maintained via temporary traffic signals.

- M-84, Bay County, northbound lanes closed from Hotchkiss Avenue to Euclid Avenue with traffic detoured. Southbound lanes will be open from I-75 to Euclid Avenue.

Southern Mid-Michigan

- Kipp Road, Ingham County, is closed over US-127 with traffic detoured. Two lanes of US-127 will be open in each direction with a shoulder closure.

- Page Avenue south of Jackson, Jackson County, has one lane open in each direction over US-127. Two lanes of US-127 will be open in each direction with a shoulder closure under the bridge.

- Spencer Road, Livingston County, has one lane open at US-23 with a temporary signal. All lanes of US-23 are open.

- I-94, Jackson County, has two lanes open in each direction between Sargent Road and the Jackson/Washtenaw county line with traffic shifted to the eastbound side of the highway.

- I-94, Jackson County, eastbound entrance ramp from Sargent Road to I-94 is closed with a detour posted.

- I-94 Business Loop (BL) (Michigan Avenue) in Jackson, Jackson County, has one lane open in each direction with a traffic shift between Lawrence Avenue and M-60.

- M-43 (Grand River Avenue) near Williamston, Ingham County, will have one lane open at Meech Road with a temporary signal, just west of M-52.

- M-43 (Saginaw Highway), Eaton County, will have one lane open in each direction between Marketplace Boulevard, just west of the I-96 interchange, and Canal Road.

- M-43 (Saginaw Highway), Eaton County, two lanes of eastbound traffic will be detoured between Mall Drive and Waverly Road; westbound traffic will be maintained.

- M-60, Jackson County, has one lane open in each direction on the bridge over I-94 BL (Michigan Avenue). I-94 BL has one lane open in each direction under the bridge.

- M-71, Shiawassee County, is closed over I-69 with a detour posted.

- M-100 (Wright Road) near Grand Ledge, Clinton County, is closed at I-96, including the westbound on and off ramps, with traffic detoured. I-96 will have two lanes open in each direction with a shoulder closure.

- US-223 east of Blissfield, Lenawee County, has one lane of traffic open using a temporary traffic signal at two separate locations near Riga Highway and Lipp Highway.

Northern Lower Peninsula

- M-32 in Alpena, Alpena County, closed from 11th Avenue to 8th Avenue with a posted detour.

- M-68 in Onaway, Presque Isle County, will have a lane shift.

- US-23, Cheboygan County, reduced to one lane controlled by a temporary signal at the culvert replacement project, 3.5 miles west of the Cheboygan/Presque Isle county line.

- US-31, Manistee County, will have shoulders closed from Coates Highway to Maidens Road.
