Christian Unity Service

While many Christians celebrate their own faith, two local congregations have already combined under one building.

When Advent Episcopal Church lost their house of worship in a ponzi scheme, they found a willing and caring congregation just down the street offering to share their space.  Members of Sylvan Lake Lutheran Church opened their arms to welcome Advent.  They offered to share their space, and even change their normal Sunday services to accommodate Advents needs.  A sign of true Christian faith.

On most Sundays, Slvan Lake Lutheran holds their service at 9:00 am and Advent Episcopal holds services at 11:00 am with a joint fellowship from 10 am until 11 am.  Both congregations have shown true Christian leadership throughout the process.

In a continuing sign of true Christian faith on Sunday, Jan 20, both congregations will combine their services in a special Unity Event at 10:00 am. It will be a hybrid service combining the Episcopal and Lutheran tenants of faith.  

The effort is not without challenges. Beside combining the different services and congregations, the service will also combine the two choirs.

Many White Lake residents are members of both churches, but people of all faiths are invited to this wonderful event.

Sylvan Lake Lutheran Church is located at 2399 Figa Avenue,  West Bloomfield Township, MI 48324. Located off Orchard Lake Road, just south of Middle Belt Road behind and to the right of the CVS Pharmacy.
