Admission to the fifth annual holiday show is free of charge, and seating is limited. Donations of canned food benefiting Open Door Outreach Center will be accepted at the door.  The show will also be presented to more than 1,000 school children from Huron Valley, Walled Lake, Commerce, Waterford and West Bloomfield during the school day.  Three separate performances will be held for school groups on Monday, Dec. 10th; show times are 9:15 AM, 11:30 AM and 2:00 PM.

“In this economy where local families are struggling to make ends meet, this is our way of giving back to the community and helping to make the holidays a little brighter for everyone,” said Hollie Campagna, director of the Lakeland Skating Club.  “It’s a busy time of year for everyone, but we can all use a little holiday cheer on ice.”

More than 50 costumed figure skaters, ranging in age from 7 to 17, will perform in solos, duets, trios and group numbers choreographed to music.  Join Cindy Lou Who, the Whoville Mayor and the cast of villagers as they celebrate the Christmas spirit with the Grinch.  During the pre-show exhibition Monday evening, three Beginner synchronized skating teams from Team du Coeur will perform their competition programs for this season.

Refreshments will be available during the evening performance. Enjoy hot chocolate, coffee and pop, popcorn, slushes, candy, hot pretzels, chicken fingers and more.
