uses strategic litigation and public outreach to secure the liberties of
Michigan's residents, workers, students and entrepreneurs."
NORC's other
special guest will be Jeannie Richards, President and
Founder of Bryan's HOPE (Heroin
Opiate Prevention Education).
In January
2012, Jeannie's son, Bryan, died as a result of a heroin addiction. On
October 30, 2013, Jeannie created a Facebook page called "Heroin
Addiction in Waterford Michigan" just to see what other people may be
dealing with the same struggles as her. The membership of the group
quickly grew to over 2,000 people in just three months. Jeannie also
learned that since Bryan's death, at least 10 other young people in her
neighborhood alone have died because of heroin addiction.
