Marina Pilibosian of Novi will compete for the title of Miss Michigan USA 2015 in Port Huron on Sept. 26-26.
More than 100 outstanding young women representing every corner and every major city in Michigan will compete for the title. Plans for the state competition are in the final stages.
“We are overwhelmed by the response and caliber of all the participants from Michigan,” Melissa Pitchford, executive director with the Miss Universe Organization said. “There is not better opportunity for ambitious young women out there today.”
The Miss Michigan USA competition offers women in the state a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to advance their personal and professional goals, she said.
The Miss Michigan USA and the Miss Michigan Teen USA Pageants will be offering more than $1 million in college scholarships to be awarded to the winners, finalists and semifinalists.
The preliminry show and competition will be held Friday, Sept. 26, at the McMorran Entertainment Center. The final competition, also held there, will take place on Saturday, Sept. 27, consists of three proportional segments: evening gown, fitness/swimsuit and the final question. The winner will claim the title and prize list, which includes travel, wardrobe, college scholarships and the right to represent Michigan in the Miss USA pageant, which will telecast live in primetime on NBC network.
Miss USA ultimately goes on to represent the United States in the Miss Universe competition. More than 600 million people view the Miss USA and Miss Universe competitions in more than 45 countries worldwide.
