Rebuilding Together Seeking Applicants from White Lake Township, Highland

Low-income homeowners must be current on mortgages and taxes to qualify for program, which has provided more than $6 million in services over the past 20 years.

Rebuilding Together Oakland County (RTOC) is accepting applications from low-income homeowners for the 2014 work day. This year, applications are being requested from eligible homeowners in Highland, White Lake Township, Milford, Commerce Township and Walled Lake.

To qualify, applicants must own their homes and be current on mortgage payments and taxes. Applications are due Jan. 31.

The Rebuild Day event helps low-income seniors, military families and others in need by providing free home repairs and maintenance for those who cannot afford or physically complete the work themselves.

Past renovations have included replacing windows, removing trip hazards, installing grab bars in bathrooms, making bathroom modifications for the disabled, upgrading kitchens, painting, yard clean-up and landscaping.

Rebuilding Together Oakland County provides these services to low-income homeowners throughout Oakland County. Areas served include Huron Valley, Pontiac, Oak Park, Royal Oak Twp., Southfield, Farmington, Farmington Hills and the “Lakes Area” of western Oakland County.  Applications are due by the end of January.

Since 1994, Rebuilding Together has provided more than $6 million in services and helped more than 800 homeowners throughout Oakland County.
