1. The Weather
Today we can expect sunny skies with a high near 76, according to the National Weather Service. Monday night rain is likely, and possibly a thunderstorm. There will be increasing clouds, with a low around 54.
2. Gas Prices
The cheapest gas in White Lake is $3.96 per gallon at Speedway, 9601 Highland Road, according to Detroit Gas Prices as of Sunday evening. The cheapest gas in Highland is $3.99 per gallon at Citgo, 3285 Highland Road.
3. John Street Repaving
The John Street paving project should be completed this week. While the road is closed to through traffic, it has remained open for those doing business at the township offices, sheriff's sub-station, senior center and credit union.
4. Highland Hazardous Waste Day
Highland Township's next Hazardous Waste Day and Tire Drive will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012. It will take place in the parking lot between Highland Middle and Highland Elementary Schools from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon. 5. White Lake Hydrant Flushing
The White Lake Township Water Department will be conducting the Fall Fire Hydrant flushing during daytime hours Monday through Friday from September 17, 2012 through November 9, 2012. Fire hydrant flushing signs will be posted one day in advance and the day of flushing at the entrance to each subdivision/development. Caution should be observed around any hydrant discharge. Minimizing water usage is recommended during the day of flushing in your area. Customers may experience some discolored water. Please run cold water to clear your lines and avoid doing laundry until the water is clear. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.
