Highland Fills Activity Center Vacancy

Heidi Bey has been appointed acting director of the Highland Adult Activities Center.

The Highland Township Board has appointed Heidi Bey to the position of Highland Adult Activities Center Director, a position that has been vacant since November 2011.

In a memo to the township board, Supervisor Triscia Pilchowski said that since the departure of the center’s director last November, Bey, along with Edna Green, have kept the center running smoothly.

"The in-house officials and I observed how effectively Heidi worked with the center’s members, Advisory Board, community groups and businesses," Pilchowski said. "She also worked out an arrangement with the Huron Valley Recreation and Community Education Director to utilize Highland Middle School’s gym to host exercise/walking classes. Recently we were impressed with her work with the Advisory Council in organizing the 2012 Candidate Forums at the adult activity center, which included an afternoon meet and greet and an evening Q&A with the candidates."
