Rep. Bentivolio headed to Central America on fact-finding mission

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, office of Congressman Kerry Bentivolio announced that he is heading to Central America on a fact-finding mission.

He will be traveling with Reps. Darrell Issa (R-CA), Blake Farenthold (R-TX), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), and Stephen Lynch (D-MA). The delegation departs this evening and will visit El Salvador, Guatamala, and Hondurus, which are the three countries from which a majority of the undocumented children crossing the southern border are coming from.

"My constituents are concerned about the border crisis and the influx of unaccompanied minors into our country," said Rep. Bentivolio. "They want to know what's going on and how we can fix this problem. I'm going on their behalf."

"The hardest thing to find in Washington is the truth," continued Rep. Bentivolio. "We are going right to the source of the problem to get a report from boots on the ground."

The delegation will meet with several groups, including government officials, NGOs, and religious groups who work on repatriation, to investigate the situation on the ground.

Congressman Kerry Bentivolio and the rest of the delegation will return Sundayevening. While on the fact-finding mission, he will be posting on the ground updates to Facebook and Twitter.
