Weekend Planner: Bowl-A-Thon, Holiday Artist Market, Euchre Tourney, 'Birdie Day' and 'Honk!' The Musical

Here's a look at what's happening around town this weekend.

1.

Where: Century Bowl, 7345 Highland Road, Waterford

When: noon-3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20

Where: , 1525 Bogie Lake Rd, White Lake

When: 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20

Cost: Free admission and parking; cost is $10 to take part in Empty Bowls fundraiser for Community Sharing Friday night (includes light soup and bread supper as well as a handmade bowl)

Why go: Purchase local gifts from artists in your area, and, if attending Friday, aid Community Sharing's mission through the Empty Bowls mission.

Where: Milford High School Center for the Performing Arts, 2380 S. Milford Road, Highland

When: 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18 and 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19

Cost: Online advance tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students/children/seniors; tickets are available at http://­www.­mhspe­rformingarts.­com through 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students/children/seniors at the door.

Why go: A musical rendition of The Ugly Duckling, Honk! is a great theater experience the whole family can enjoy.

Where: VFW Post 9914, 3200 Duck Lake Road, Highland

When: check-in at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19; play starts promptly at 7:30 p.m.

Cost:  $20 per person or $35 per couple; be sure to call Lori at 248-760-6207 or email her at lrohde@usatoday.com to let her know in advance you'll be coming and pay at the door

Why go:  Support local athletics and have a great time competing for prizes and noshing on snacks (but be sure to bring your own beverages; there's no cash bar).

Where:  (Hartland), (Hartland), Mystic Creek Golf Club (Milford), or Heather Highlands Golf Club (Holly) .

When: Call for your tee time, which will be sometime Sunday, Nov. 20 at Mystic Creek Golf Club (248-684-3333) or Heather Highlands Golf Club (248-634-6800) or (248-887-3777); tee times are full.

Cost: Golfers should bring either a frozen turkey that's 15 pounds or larger or $25; also, a dinner is planned at . Proceeds will aid a local family in need. Suggested donation for dinner only is $10. Those not golfing should try to attend dinner between noon and 2:30 p.m.

Why go: Get that last golf game in before the Thanksgiving holiday and help others at the same time!
