17 Year Old Arrested on Charges of Larceny of a Firearm

The following information was supplied by White Lake Township Police. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

At least four handguns, some swords and a few long guns were taken from a home on the 200 block of Horizon sometime between mid-December and Jan. 13 according to White Lake Police.

A report filed with the department states that the man who owned the guns and swords told police the lock box he kept the weapons in was secure, and there were no signs of a break-in.

During the investigation, the report states, the man's 17-year-old son was questioned. He denied knowing anything about the missing guns, but one of them was found under his bed, the report states.

The teen was arrested on the scene and taken to the station where he was questioned by detectives.

According to the report, the teen told detectives he sold the guns to his friends.

Over the last week, two of the four handguns were found and collected by police, and all of the long guns were recovered. One handgun was found in Pontiac, the report states, and the other in Clarkston.

The swords and two handguns are still missing.

The teen was arraigned Jan. 15 on one charge of larceny of a firearm, a five-year felony, and one charge of resisting a police officer, a two-year felony. His bond was set at $10,000.

The incident remains under investigation.
