1959 Ford Fairlane Catches Fire on Teggerdine

The following information was supplied by the White Lake Township Police Department. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

A 1959 Ford Fairlane caught fire while being driven down Teggerdine near M-59 at 9 p.m. Aug. 22.

A report filed with the states that the driver told police he heard a small explosion but didn't notice anything strange with the car.

According to the report, another vehicle pulled up beside the Ford and that driver told the man that his car was on fire. The man pulled over and called 911. While on the phone with 911 another car stopped. The driver of that car had bottles of water in his vehicle. Together, they poured the water over the fire and were able to put it out before the fire department arrived.

Man loses wallet

A 55-year-old reported that he lost his wallet at . It was later found in tact, but missing more than $600 in cash, according to White Lake Police.

According to the report, the incident happened at 7 a.m. Aug. 23. The man, who's a contractor, told police he loaded the materials he needed from the outside of the store into his truck and went to pay the cashier but couldn't find his wallet.

The report states he thought he had left it at home, so he drove home but couldn't find the wallet there. When he returned to the store, he found his wallet, minus the cash, in a bucket near where he was loading his truck.

There are no suspects at this time, but the incident is under investigation.

Safe Missing from Home

A safe was reported stolen from a home on the 6000 block of Crosby Lake Court sometime between Aug. 19 and Aug. 21.

According to the report, the safe contained money, jewelery, a gun and ammunition.

There are no suspects at this time, and the incident remains under investigation.
