Airsoft Guns Legal, but Misuse Could Result in Serious Ramifications
A resident asks about the use of airsoft guns within White Lake Township limits.
Is it legal to shoot airsoft guns within the city limits?
— Danielle Smith
Chief Edward Harris: Ms. Smith, there are no prohibitions as to an airsoft gun in White Lake. I would qualify that, however, by cautioning anyone using such a weapon that if used improperly, there could be ramifications. If used against another in an improper manner, assault and battery charges could result. If used improperly against the property of another, destruction of property charges could result. Also, use in a manner that creates a disturbance could result in a disorderly person charge. I would also caution any user that the possibility exists that those weapons could be mistaken for real weapons. Thank you for the question.
