Blotter: Marijuana Possession, Larcenies and a Breaking and Entering

White Lake Police have responded to 200 calls since Jan. 1.

A 25-year-old White Lake resident was arrested on Tuesday at 1:40 a.m. after admitting to having marijuana in the car following a traffic stop.

According to Chief Edward Harris, the man was stopped for speeding. When asked by the officer is there was anything in the car the man told police he had marijuana and a pipe in the glove box.

"He said he was on his way to his friend house where they were going to smoke, play video games and eat corn dogs. He also said he was going to stay the night after smoking so he wouldn't be driving while under the influence of drugs," Harris said.

"They called and let her know there were a number of suspicious charges," Harris said.

The charges included purchases made at in White Lake and various other businesses in Waterford, Pontiac and Auburn Hills.

"We have two suspects, both are white females in their 20's," Harris said.

The incident remains under investigation.

A second larceny was reported over the weekend on the 2000 block of Lynn Drive. Harris said a woman filed a report stating two diamond rings went missing from her home. She suspects they were taken between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

"We don't have any details at this time and we are unsure of the circumstances," Harris said. The incident remains under investigation.

Breaking and entering

A homeowner on the 5000 Pheasant Run in White Lake returned home from shopping to find the front door of their home kicked in.

Harris said the incident occurred on Dec. 39 between 5 and 6 p.m.

"We are still investigating at this point," he said. "What we do know is that an unknown person kicked in the front door of this home. The owners didn't notice anything missing, but they are still checking. It's possible that they startled whoever entered the home, or someone else startled them while they were in the process of breaking into the home."

The incident is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at (248) 698-4400.
