Crime Report: Homeowners Report Dead Fish Left in Mailbox, Other Vandalism

The following information from June 28 to July 3 was supplied by the White Lake Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Residents of a home on the 500 block of Berrypatch Lane reported incidents of vandalism to the White Lake Police Department.

According to the report, the house was toilet-papered, dead fish were left in the mailbox, plants were ripped up from the yard and some lawn ornaments were damaged. They reported that the vandalism took place sometime between 9 p.m. on July 2 and 7 a.m. on July 3.

Neighbors told the police they did not hear or see anything. Police have no suspects at this time.

Home Invasion 

Homeowners reported a home invasion on the 1000 block of Oxbow Lake Road to White Lake Police. According to the police report, the crime occurred sometime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on June 28.

Police found signs of forced entry into the garage, which has access into the main home.

Homeowners reported a ring and handgun stolen from the home. The police have entered the gun into the lien system as stolen.

Police have no suspects at this time.

Boating Accident

Police received a call around 4:30 p.m. on July 3 about a man in his mid-20's recklessly operating a Sea-Doo on Pontiac Lake.

According to witnesses, the man ran his Sea-Doo into a docked pontoon boat near Walt's Point. The man then allegedly fled the scene in a car. 

A boating accident report was filled out and several witnesses provided police with information. 

The police have leads and are following up on them in conjuction with the Marine Division of the Sheriff's Office.
