Deputy Injured During Incident in Highland

The following information was supplied by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Highland Substation. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

Oakland County sheriff's deputies were called to a home in Highland on May 4 for a domestic disturbance.

According to the report, a woman told deputies with the Highland Substation that her 27-year-old son was out of control and breaking items around the house.

Deputies arrived at the home on the 700 block of Milford Road at 11 a.m. and saw the son run out of the back door and away from the home, the report states.

A deputy chased after the man and a struggle ensued, according to the report. The deputy struck a wooden screen door during the fight, and received cuts to both arms. The suspect was not harmed.

The suspected was arrested and taken to Oakland County Jail where he was lodged pending arraignment.

The deputy was treated on the scene by medical staff, and then cleared to return to duty by the St. Joseph Urgent Care in White Lake.

The incident remains under investigation.
