Drunken Driving Arrest Leads to Larceny Charges for Clarkston Man

The following information was supplied by the White Lake Township Police Department. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

A 22-year-old Clarkston man was arrested early Saturday morning after running a stop sign on Glasgow near Union Lake Road in White Lake.

According to White Lake Police Sgt. Dan Keller, an officer pulled the man over at 3:08 a.m. for failing to stop at the sign. During the traffic stop the officer noticed the man looked intoxicated. The man failed a field sobriety test, and registered a .15 blood alcohol level. The legal limit is .08.

During the arrest, as officers did inventory on the man's car, several items were found that seemed out of place, according to the report. Keller said those items included ammunition for a gun, a necklace and a large amount of change.

"The officers did a search of the area and found some other misplaced items including a laptop computer under a tree in the neighborhood the man was leaving," Keller said. "A lot of times we find that people will take things from cars in neighborhoods and stash them, then come back for the items later."

The laptop's owner was identified, and police were able to confirm that several cars in the area of Glasgow were broken into.
