Fire Chief Gives Out Citizen Award

White Lake Fire Chief Anthony Maltese presented James Morcom with an award Tuesday night for his role is saving a drowning man in July.

Morcom was able to keep the man afloat until more helped arrived. The man was taken to the hospital for treatment following the incident, and survived.

Maltese said it's not often the department hands out such awards, but it was clear the man would not have survived if Morcom had not been quick to act.
