Highland Home Broken Into, Jewelry Taken

The following information was supplied by the Oakland County Sheriff's Department, Highland substation. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

A home on the 2000 block of Baird Court was broken into sometime between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on July 15.

According to a report filed with the Oakland County Sheriff's deputies at the Highland substation, the homeowner told police he had left the home unlocked.

The report states that when the homeowner returned to his home, he noticed his front door was open. More than $500 worth of items were missing from the home, including jewelry and two debit cards.

The incident remains under investigation.

Camera taken from vehicle

A camera bag containing lenses and a camera was taken from a vehicle parked on the 4000 block of Pommore.

According to the report, the owner last used the camera a month ago and kept it in his car. He told police that he noticed it missing July 24.

The report states that the theft of the camera could have happened at anytime during the last month.

The lenses were valued at $150 and $400; while the camera was valued at $560.

The incident remains under investigation.
