Highland Man Indicted in Murder of His Mother

The 21-year-old is accused of stabbing and beating his mother to death.

The Oakland Press is reporting that Jeffrey B. Pyne, 21, has been indicted in the murder of his mother, Ruth Pyne, 51.

In May, Ruth's body was found in the garage of her home on the 2400 block of Burwood Court — in a neighborhood just off of Hickory Ridge Road near the western border of the Highland Township — by her 10-year-old daughter, according to .

According to a Oakland Press report published Wednesday, Ruth suffered severe trauma to her head and she had 16 stab wounds in her neck.

Pyne faces one charge of first-degree, premeditated murder.

He was arraigned Wednesday and is being held without bond, according to Oakland County court records. The next court date is a 8:30 a.m. Oct. 25 pretrial, records show.
