GPS Units Taken from Unlocked Cars on Steephollow

The following information was supplied by the White Lake Township Police Department. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

Two GPS units were taken from two different vehicles on the 9000 block of Steephollow sometime between Nov. 6 and Nov. 7, according to White Lake Township police.

Police said they were called to take reports after the owners of the cars noticed the GPS units taken.

Lt. Don Nankervis said both vehicles were left unlocked.

"It's important people remember to lock their vehicles and not leave valuable items in their cars," Nanckervis said.

Home damaged

An owner returned to his home on the 3500 block of Jackson Boulevard and found a window had been broken out, according to police.

Nankervis said the owner was returning after being gone from the home for two months.

"It appears someone was either attempting to gain entry, but did not, or it was an act of vandalism" Nankervis said. The owner told police he didn't see any missing items.

The incident remains under investigation.
