Man Arrested After Crashing Into Mailboxes, Falling Asleep on Porch

The following information was supplied by White Lake Township police. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

A 26-year-old from Goodrich was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident and operating while under the influence of alcohol after police say he crashed into several mailboxes and fell asleep on a stranger's porch.

The incident occurred July 27 at 12:20 a.m. on the 800 block of Schuyler.

According to the report, the man was driving down the street when he crashed into several mailboxes and walked out of his car to a nearby home and fell asleep on the home's porch.

When police arrived, the man told officers he had been in the area to drop a friend off. He was given a preliminary breath test and registered a .211 blood alcohol level (BAC).

He was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident and operating while under the influence of alcohol.

The man was taken to Oakland County Jail where he was lodged until he sobered up. He was then released, pending the issuance of a warrant.Β
