Man Arrested After Throwing Stolen Hitch Through Local Bar's Door

The following information was supplied by White Lake Township Police. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

A 31-year-old was given a citation for malicious destruction of property after White Lake Township police say he broke the glass entry door at the White Lake Inn—causing more than $300 in damage.

According to the report, the incident happened Jan. 6 after the man was thrown out of the bar for being heavily intoxicated.

Witnesses told police the man took a hitch off of a random vehicle and threw it through the glass entryway to the bar.

The report states the man then took off running, but was caught by two employees with the bar. They held him until police arrived.

When police arrived, the man denied any wrongdoing.

He was arrested and taken to the White Lake Township police station where he was held until he was sober. Once sober, he was released with a citation for malicious destruction of property—he was not charged for taking the hitch.
