Man Transported to Hospital After Driving Erratically Down M-59

White Lake Police say the man had extremely low blood sugar and was disoriented.

A man was transported to a local hospital after suffering a medical emergency behind the wheel Tuesday on M-59 near Fisk Road in White Lake.

According to the report, people called the police station to report a possible drunk driver after witnessing a car drive erratically down M-59.

When police attempted to stop the car, the car kept going and police followed it down the highway, the report states.

The car eventually came to a stop in the parking lot of Wendy's on M-59 near Fisk Road.

Lt. Adam Kline said the driver was disoriented and did not know why he had stopped the vehicle, "It was clear to us that something was medically wrong with the man, he had no idea we were trying to pull him over and couldn't tell us why he had stopped when he did."

The driver had extremely low blood sugar, according to the report, and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

He was not arrested by police, nor was he cited. However, Kline said the man was listed at fault for one accident caused when he hit another vehicle during the incident.
