Missing Cat Turns Up Dead, Shot With Arrow

The following information was supplied by the White Lake Township Police Department. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

White Lake Police were called to a home on the 6000 block of White Lake Road, after a missing cat was found dead with an arrow through it's body on Nov. 2 at 5:30 p.m.

Lt. Adam Kline said the cat belong to the neighbor of the person who found it.

"The neighbor had apparently just lost his wife, and they didn't want to have to tell him his cat was also dead," Kline said.

When police spoke with the neighbor, he said he owned two black and white cats and that one had gone missing on Halloween.

The cat was found with an arrow through it's body, there was no blood around the area so it's likely the cat was hit with the arrow elsewhere and dumped, according to the police report.

Kline said the person who found the cat spoke with the neighbor and offered to bury the pet, the neighbor accepted the offer. An animal cruelty complaint was filed with the department.
