Mother Arrested on Charges of Drunken Driving, Child Endangerment

The following information was supplied by White Lake Township Police. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

A 23-year-old White Lake woman was arrested Jan. 10 at 12:30 a.m. after a routine traffic stop according to White Lake Police.

The woman was subsequently arraigned on charges of operating while intoxicated (OWI) and child endangerment (OWI with an occupant less than 16). The charges are one-year misdemeanors.

The woman was given a $10,000 bond.

According to the report, the woman was stopped by an officer for a traffic violation on M-59 near Meijer. The report states that while the officer was talking to the woman he noticed the smell of intoxicants.

The woman was given a field sobriety test, and failed, the report states. She registered at .12 blood alcohol level when given a preliminary breath test. The legal limit is .08.

The woman was arrested on the scene. In the car was a 3-year-old child. The report states that the child was in a car seat, but that the car seat was not secured properly. The child was turned over to a family member.

The woman remains in Oakland County Jail.
