Police Arrest Teen Following Traffic Stop

Two teens from St. Clair Shores were taken to the following a traffic stop on April 4 at 1:50 a.m.

According to the report, the 18-year-old driver was arrested and cited on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of narcotic paraphernalia. The 16-year-old passenger, the report states, was released to her father and given a warning by police for being out past curfew.

Lt. Adam Kline said the 18-year-old was first pulled over by a White Lake officer after the officer noticed the car had an inoperable license plate light.

"When the officer spoke to the driver he asked if there was anything in the car," Kline said. According to the report, the driver told the officer he had a glass pipe in the center console that he used to smoke Spice. He told the officer, the report states, that he did not use it for marijuana.

The officer noted in the report that he smelled marijuana in the vehicle, and as a result, arrested the teen, who now faces charges of possession of narcotic paraphernalia. During a search of the vehicle, the report states, another glass pipe was found. In addition, when the officer searched the 18-year-old during his arrest, 2 grams of marijuana were found in his pocket.

Kline said a field test of the marijuana at the site tested positive.

The teen posted a $100 bond and was released pending a court date.
