According to Police Chief Edward Harris, the incident happened just after midnight Tuesday on the 8100 block of Vanden Drive.

"A person walked up to a car in the driveway of a home, and the security light was activated," Harris said. "The homeowner looked out the front window and shined a light on the person near the car. Another attempted larceny

Two juveniles were caught by police after one of them dropped a cell phone at the scene of an attempted larceny from a vehicle.

The incident happened between 4-5 a.m. Saturday on the 5000 block of Jon Paul Drive.

"The homeowner stepped outside for a smoke and saw two people going through his unlocked car," Harris said. "The man yelled, and the two people ran, one dropping a phone near the car."

When police arrived, they took the phone. The mother of one of the juveniles called that phone and identified her son; based on that information, police were able to find the second juvenile.

"We will be submitting juvenile petitions to the court for prowling and attempted larceny from a vehicle," Harris said.

Stolen Jet-Skis

A Jet-Ski trailer with two Jet-Skis was taken from a home on Williams Lake sometime after 5 p.m. Saturday or during the day Sunday.

"The owner said the trailer was parked right outside the home," Harris said. "When they noticed it missing the next day, they called us."

There are no suspects at this time, but the trailer and two Jet-Skis have been entered into the system as stolen. The incident remains under investigation.

Break-in

Sometime between 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday, a home on the 7000 block of Cedar Creek was broken into.

"The neighbor was watching the home for the owners, who were out of town, and noticed when she went to care for the pets that the door was open," Harris said.

Someone threw a rock through the sliding glass door in the basement and took a laptop and an Xbox game console. The incident is under investigation.
