Police Blotter: Larcenies From Cars, Garages and More

White Lake Police responded to a home on Hickory Meadows Wednesday to investigate reports of a home invasion.

Lt. Adam Kline said a woman living on that street reported a medical digital recorder, worth an estimated $5,000, was taken from her attached garage sometime between April 12 and May 1.

"She said she left the device in the garage while she was away in Denver," Kline said.

The device wasn't reported missing until Wednesday. The incident remains under investigation.

Thefts from Lakewood

Police are investigating the thefts of boards from picnic tables at Lakewood Elementary School.

Kline said the someone, over the last two weeks, has been removing the boards off the tops of the picnic tables at the school. The boards are made of a composite material and estimated to be worth $25 a piece.

At least nine boards are missing.

The incident remains under investigation, anyone with information is asked to call (248) 698-4400.

Larceny in broad daylight

A man reported his keys and cellphone stolen from his vehicle on May 22, at 2 p.m. at the station.

Kline said the man told police he was pumping gas into his convertible when someone reached in and grabbed his keys and cell phone.

There is no other information at this time. The incident remains under investigation.

Larceny from shed

A John Deere lawnmower, valued at $2,500, and a $100 well pump were reported stolen on Tuesday from a home on Clearwater.

Kline said the owner put the items in the shed in September 2010, and when he went to get his lawnmower on Tuesday noticed the items were missing.

There are no suspects at this time, and the incident remains under investigation.
