Police Blotter: Marijuana, Home Invasion and Larcenies from Vehicles

There were more than 260 calls for service between March 18 and March 22.

A 21-year-old White Lake resident was arrested for possession of marijuana after a routine traffic stop on Tuesday just after midnight.

According to Police Chief Edward Harris, the woman was stopped after an officer noticed her tinted windows were too dark. When he approached the vehicle, he smelled marijuana.

"The driver consented to a search of the vehicle, and the officer found a marijuana pipe and some baggies of suspected marijuana," Harris said.

The woman was arrested, processed at the station, cited for possession and failure to change address and released after posting bond.

Home invasion

Police responded to a reported home invasion on Mill Road on Monday night at about 11 p.m.

When police arrived they found a busted lock and broken window on a back door. Harris said the owner of the home didn't notice anything missing.

Detectives were at the home Tuesday processing the scene, and the incident remains under investigation.

Larcenies

Several cars in the Hilltop neighborhood were broken into Friday night and early Saturday, Harris said.

"There are at least six or seven reports from Hillwood Road," Harris said.

The items missing range from day planners and hockey equipment to tools and electronics.

The incidents are under investigation.

Retail fraud

A 25-year-old woman was arrested Sunday at 7:50 p.m. after allegedly stealing clothing from .

Harris said the woman was observed by loss prevention officers concealing clothing in her purse.

"The woman hid the clothes then went to the grocery aisle and grabbed milk," he said. "She paid for the milk but did not attempt to pay for the clothes."

Loss prevention officers stopped the woman before she left the store, and the police were called. When police arrived, they gathered evidence from loss prevention officers and arrested the woman.

She was processed at the station, cited and released on a $100 personal bond.
