Police Blotter: Retail Fraud, an Assault and Larceny from Vehicles

An 18-year-old was arrested at on Monday at 5:40 p.m. after allegedly attempting to steal objects from the store.

According to White Lake Chief Edward Harris, the teen entered the store and grabbed a pair of shoes. She then reportedly went to the men's department and selected two T-shirts and concealed them in her purse.

"She went to the check out and paid for the purse but didn't attempt to pay for the shirts in her purse," Harris said.

The teen was stopped by loss-prevention officers and held until police arrived. Harris said she was arrested, issued a citation for third-degree retail fraud and then released.

Assault

A 31-year-old woman was arrested after reportedly assaulting another woman while walking along Jackson Boulevard in White Lake on Monday.

"According to the report, the woman was walking along the road with her boyfriend when the victim and her friend saw the suspect," Harris said. "The victim knew the suspect's boyfriend and waved."

The 31-year-old then confronted the victim and allegedly began to yell and get in the victim's face.

She then reportedly grabbed the victim's face and the victim bit the woman's finger. The woman then allegedly began to punch the victim repeatedly, Harris said.

"The boyfriend pulled the woman off the victim and they fled," Harris said. "Our officer was able to track them down and the woman was brought into custody, issued a citation for assault and battery then released."

Larceny from vehicles

A 27-year-old Waterford resident is in trouble after allegedly breaking into two vehicles at a residence on the 3000 block of Ormond Road.

"We received a call Sunday at 3 a.m. that a man was banging on the home of a residence and yelling," Harris said.

The man reportedly entered two vehicles at the residence, a Cadillac and a Buick, and took a number of items, including a cell phone.

When police arrived on the scene the man was still in one of the cars, Harris said. He was arrested and lodged at Oakland County Jail. The man, Michael Anthony Ferraro, was arraigned Monday on one felony account of larceny and released on a $10,000 personal bond. Alcohol was a factor in the incident, Harris said.
