Keller said Dillon Bond, a White Lake Middle School student, crossed the busy thoroughfare about 8:17 p.m. on Dec. 13 as was struck by the front quarter-panel of the driver’s side of an oncoming passenger vehicle.

The drive stopped right away, notified police, and was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs, Keller said.

The speed limit on M-59 between Bogie and Porter is 50 mph.The area is not well-lit and appears the driver and pedestrian did not see one another, Keller said.
