Police Looking for Information on Possible Explosion

were called to a home on the 9000 block of Mandon in White Lake at 1:10 a.m. Feb. 23 after the homeowner told police he heard what sounded like a loud explosion.

Police Chief Edward Harris said officers searched the area, but could not find the source of the sound the man reported hearing.

Woman arrested at Walmart

A 36-year-old woman was arrested on charges of retail fraud Feb. 22 after store employees told police they witnessed the woman concealing items in her purse and coat.

Harris said the two store employees noticed the woman place items into her coat pockets and purse. According to the report, the woman then exited the store, passing all the cash registers on her way out.

Harris said the two employees stopped the woman outside the store and asked her to come back in until police could arrive on the scene. The woman complied, the report states.

When police arrived, Harris said the woman was brought to the station. The report states she told police she had taken the $143 worth of miscellaneous items for her kids.

The woman, Harris said, was issued a citation for retail fraud and then turned over to Waterford Police where the woman was wanted for outstanding traffic warrants.
