Police Looking For Suspect in Theft of Highland Woman's Purse

White Lake Police are hoping the public can help identify the suspect in a purse theft from the Meijer in White Lake.

Police were called to Meijer in White Lake after a purse was taken Nov. 25 at 5 p.m.

According to the report, a 35-year-old Highland woman was at the store shopping. When she loaded her groceries into her car, she left her purse in the cart, the report states.

The woman told police she drove home and didn't discover she had left the her purse at the store until she went to unload the groceries at her home. The report states that the woman returned to the store and could not locate her purse, so she contacted the stores loss prevention officer.

The loss prevention officer and White Lake police checked the surveillance footage and were able to see a man, 5'10 with a goatee and wearing a blue sweatshirt, get out of the white Chevy cargo van parked next to the woman's car.

The video, the report states, shows the man get out of the car, walk to where the woman's cart was parked after she left, take the purse and return to the car.

The purse had the woman's credit cards, identification and cash.
