Police Need Help Identifying Man Suspected in Several Thefts

are looking for help identifying a man suspected of several thefts in Rochester Hills and White Lake.

Lt. Don Nankervis said the man is a suspect in the theft of a purse from a local church in White Lake.

On Jan. 16, between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. someone broke the passenger side window of a vehicle parked in a church parking lot in White Lake and took the purse in the front seat.

Nankervis said the victim's credit cards were used at various stores in the area and in Rochester Hills. Surveillance video from the stores show a man, in his late 40's or early 50's, using the cards.

The man, according to Nankervis, is also wanted in Rochester Hills where police, using surveillance, have identified him as the suspect in several thefts similar to the one in White Lake.

"He appears to target cars parked at churches and restaurants," Nankervis said.

The man, police said, has been seen driving a 2001-2003 white Chrysler Sebring with a moon roof.
