Police Need Help Identifying Thief Near Cooley, Round Lake Road

The following information was supplied by the White Lake Township Police Department. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

are looking for help in identifying a theft suspect.

The man, shown in surveillance images attached to this story, is described as a male in his 20s or early 30s. Police believe he is responsible for stealing a few thousand dollars' worth of tires, wheel rims and radios at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 1, said police Lt. Don Nankervis.

"The man pictured, and another in the white Blazer (shown in the images), were behind the Mama Mia property at Cooley and Round Lake taking tires and rims off cars and stealing radios for nearly an hour," Nankervis said.

Police obtained security camera footage and are looking for help in identifying the man in the images and the owner of the white Blazer in the background.

The Mama Mia property is currently vacant. The cars belong to the owner of the property who was storing them behind the building.

Five vehicles were placed on blocks after having their wheels and rims taken; the windows of those cars were then smashed and the radios were taken from the dashboard, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 248-698-4400.

Area hit by vandals

Home and cars in the area of Lake Grove were struck Thursday by vandalism, according to White Lake Police Lt. Adam Kline.

Windows in homes and cars were shot with pellet or BB guns causing several hundred dollars in damage, he said. Seven reports were filed.

On Aug. 1, several mailboxes and vehicles were vandalized with spray-paint in the same area. Kline said it's possible the incidents are related.

The cases remain under investigation. Anyone with information may call 248-698-4400.
