Police Seeking Warrants After Brawl at Bar

The following information was supplied by the White Lake Township Police Department. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

White Lake Police were called to the on Sunday at 2:40 a.m. after a fight broke out between patrons and employees as the bar shut down.

Police Chief Edward Harris said this is the third weekend in a row police have been called to the bar for an assault complaint.

According to the report, a group of patrons were heckling people as they left the bar after last call. A fight broke out between the hecklers and some of the people leaving.

"People were getting hit to the ground, kicked and punched," Harris said.

Several arrests were made on the scene, Harris said. But all those arrested were released while police continue to gather information on the brawl.

"We need to gather a few more statements and reports from the hospital on injuries," Harris said.

At least one charge of felonious assault is expected, Harris said. The others will likely be misdemeanor assault charges once warrants are obtained.

Suspected home invasion under investigation

A home on Grass Lake Road was broken into on Monday sometime between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., according to Harris.

When the owners came home they found a rear door to the home had been pried open and a screen to a window pushed in.

"It appears someone forced entry into the home, secured the two German shepherds in the garage and they took a large number of cash and televisions from the home," Harris said.

Police have a possible suspect and are gathering more information, he said.
