Reward Offered For Information on Vehicle Fires in Cedarbrook

The Michigan Arson Prevention Committee is offering a $5,000 cash reward for information on last week's arsons in Cedarbrook Estates.

On September 14th at approximately 01:24 a.m., the White Lake Township Fire Department responded to a reported vehicle fire in a residential driveway off of Clairborne Street on the Township's west side.

Firefighters arrived to find a vehicle fully involved in fire, and a second vehicle at the same address which had been involved but self-extinguished prior to their arrival.

While on scene, Police Officer's discovered a third vehicle on fire located approximately eight homes to the south.

Investigators from White Lake Township Fire Department and Oakland County Sheriff's Department Fire Investigation Unit were called to the scene and they determined the fires were deliberately set. Police Officers also discovered additional vehicles broken into but not burned. A fire that had self-extinguished was found at approximately 9 a.m. the same day on a street south of Clairborne when a home owner was leaving for work.

Investigators believe all of the vehicle fires are related. Fire Investigators and Police are asking the public for help (stating the person or people involved are dangerous and a risk to public safety and welfare).
