Car Tire Slashed in Walmart Parking Lot

The following information was supplied by the White Lake Township Police Department. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

White Lake Police were called to Walmart on Aug. 16 after a woman exited the store to find a tire on her car slashed.

According to the report, the woman told police that she had inadvertently cut off a man driving a black SUV prior to entering the Walmart parking lot. She said the man was very upset with her and he might have slashed the tire while she was in the store.

Police are following up on the lead. Anyone with information is asked to call 248-698-4400. The incident remains under investigation.

Man beat up, money taken

A 31-year-old man from Linden is recovering after police say he was beat up outside the White Lake Motel.

According to the report, the man and his friend were exiting a room at the motel at 5:45 a.m. on Aug. 14 when a man, approximately 5'7 and 180 pounds, with tattoos confronted the two. The man punched the 31-year-old in the face and, the report states, took $300 out of his back pocket before retreating to a different room.

The 31-year-old's friend found the man and confronted him, he received $82 back of the cash that was taken, the report states.

The 31-year-old made it to the Shell Gas Station nearby and an ambulance was called. The friend arrived at the Shell with the $82 and returned it to the Linden man.

When police arrived, the tattooed male couldn't be located. The Linden man was treated for his injuries and released, while the friend was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

The incident remains under investigation.
