Salvation Army Target of Breaking and Entering

The following information was supplied by the White Lake Township Police Department. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

White Lake Police were called to the Salvation Army on Highland Road in White Lake following a reported breaking and entering.

According to the report, a window was broken out sometime between Aug. 1 and Aug. 2. The report states it appears someone entered the building through the broken window, kicked open the door to the store's office and rummaged through the office.

Lt. Don Nankervis said some items were taken, but that police didn't want to release that information yet.

Evidence was collected from the seen, but there are no named suspects at this time. The incident remains under investigation.

GPS taken

A GPS unit was reported stolen to White Lake Police on Aug. 3. The owner told police, according to the report, that she had left the GPS unit in her car that was parked at a home on the 8000 block of Newport Drive.

The owner said in the report that she thought the car was locked, but when she went to it in the morning a door was ajar and the GPS was missing.

The GPS is valued at $100. There were no forced entry marks on the car. The incident remains under investigation.

Man saved following suspected overdose

A 27-year-old Hartland man was saved by White Lake Firefighters following a reported overdose according to a police report filed with White Lake Police.

The report states police, fire and Star EMS were called to a home in Cedarbrook Village in the early morning hours of July 31 after friends at the home found the Hartland man unconscious.

According to the report, the friends told police the man went into the bathroom and they heard a crash. They entered the bathroom and saw the man with a needle in his arm passed out, the report states.

The friends called 911. When the firefighters arrived on the scene they began efforts to save the man's life. He was given an injection of adrenaline to restart his heart and regained consciousness.

The man was transported to the hospital for further treatment. Nankervis said the quick response time of the fire department and first responders was key to saving the man's life.

A number of suspected narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia were collected from the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
