School District Reports Suspicious Person in White Lake

Another warning has gone out to Huron Valley parents after a girl reported being followed to her bus stop in White Lake.

A girl was followed to her bus stop in White Lake according to an email home to parents from the Huron Valley School District.

According to the email, a female White Lake Middle School student was walking to her bus stop in the area of Sandalwood and Reidsview in White Lake Friday, Sept. 20, when a man started following her.

The email states the man was in his forties and had a beard, he was driving a white van with yellow and black letters before he got out of the van and started following her on foot.

The student ran to her home and locked the doors, then called her parent. The man had left the are by the time police were called to the area, the email states.

Additional patrols will occur near the bus stop, the district said.

Anyone with additional information should call the White Lake Police Department at 248-698-4400.

This isn't the first report of "stranger-danger" this school year. In the last two weeks there have been at least two other incidents reported to police in White Lake, Highland and Milford.
