Shed Catches Fire, Fire Department Able to Save Home

The following information was supplied by the White Lake Township Police Department. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

The White Lake fire and police departments were called to a home on the 5000 block of Nicole on Thursday after a shed caught fire.

Police Chief Edward Harris said the shed was fully engulfed when police arrived, and it looked as if the home next to it could catch fire at any minute.

"When the firefighters arrived on the scene, they were able to contain the fire and save the home," Harris said.

According to Harris, it was likely an accidental fire. "The guy was mowing his lawn and there were grass clippings. It's likely when he put the lawn mower away it was too hot and caught fire."
